Armor Bonus's
Im all confused on the armor bonus's. im a w/mo. im looking to buy my final set of armor after ascention. now the knights set has 'reduced dmg' bonus. now do i get an additional bonus for each item, or do i just get 1 bonus for the set? also on abosorbtion runes, when it says dmg -1, does it mean 1/10?
im split between the knight set and the platemail set. reduced dmg vs extra armor. |

To answer your first question, yes you get an additional bonus should you decide to put a rune in. Even if you have a helm that adds +1 to strength and put a minor rune of strength. You'll have +2 to strength from that item. As far as how each armor will affect damage, I can give you my understanding. All armor reduces damage by a certain percentage depending on how much armor you have. This being said, Knight's armor reduces by a certain percentage and by 2. Platemail reduces at a higher percentage, especially against physical harm. Follow the link and check out the section on armor and defense.

One piece of knights will give the 2 absorption. The whole set will give 2 absorption. You're better off going platemail and 1 piece of knights, or gladiators.

Awww I'm so glad I happend to stumble across this thread. I've started getting the platemail armour and have really been thinking that I don't like the helm that is available... and would want to get the knights helm instead....
Enigmatics ya just made up my mind... thanks so much. |

The Bonuses for armor are for that peace only. Every time you are hit the game calculates where the hit takes place then applies the AC and Bonus of that area (ie. Head, Chest, Arms, Legs, or Feet). So Like with my Ranger I could have armor that adds +15 vs Fire, or Cold, Or Lightning. THink of just how sick it would be if I could wear on of each peice and get that bonus. But if I have Fur Leggings(cold damage) and I'm hit in the chest I do not get the +15 AC bonus.

Fye, the received wisdom seems to say that Damage Reduction is the exception to this rule. I don't know whether it is or not, but I think that's what Enigmatics is trying to say.
